National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. These permanent dates enhance planning and position National Nurses Week as an established recognition event. As of 1998, May 8 was designated as National Student Nurses Day, to be celebrated annually. And as of 2003, National School Nurse Day is celebrated on the Wednesday within National Nurses Week (May 6-12) each year. The nursing profession has been supported and promoted by the American Nurses Association (ANA) since 1896.
At VITALIA Active Adult Community® – Rockside Seven Hills, OH the Director of Wellness Aaron is a great leader and creates a fun and loving environment for our staff and residents. His ability to teach nursing skills to the others around him allows our team to consistently grow and learn new skills. Aaron’s communication with the residents and family is wonderful.
The VITALIA® – Rockside wellness team provides excellent care by learning about the residents and their needs. They treat residents as if they are family. The VITALIA® – Rockside wellness team is smart, caring, loving, and eager to learn and grow. They are the most dependable staff I have ever worked with.
The Covid-19 pandemic was the most challenging event health care has ever had to work through. All care partners and nurses fought the battle by ensuring our residents had everything they needed to continue living a healthy and happy life, while at times sacrificing their own health and happiness. It takes a special person to become a nurse and the strongest of them fought through Covid-19 by providing excellent care to the residents.
I want to give a shout out to Tomesha, our Medication Technician Nurse. Tomesha is the leader of the pack, constantly training our staff, ensuring our residents have everything they need, and she is extremely dependable. Tomesha has a bright future ahead of her in nursing!
In recognition of National Nursing Week we will throw an appreciation party for our nurses with gifts, food, and music.
